Some People Criticize Everyone Without Establishing Anything From Their Side

[August 28, 2016] MESSAGE-1

Following are the objections raised by two users to Your recent article on Sri Shirdi Sai Baba: (forwarded by Shri Kartik)

Objections from user 1:'The Swami has no idea what smaarta means. smaarta has no relation with Advaita as such (it only happened in the late 1700s on a mass scale with the rise of Kanchi Sankara maṭha). It simply means someone who performs the basic Śrauta karmans and not any other philosophy specifically. So no Pañcarātra, Śaiva Siddhanta or any Śaiva stuff(because all of them are classically declared to be Veda-bāhya by most smaartas,cf. Aparāditya, Kumarila, etc, etc. on Manu)...

Swami replied: Thinking that I am also a person, who is master of none and jack of all trades, they have gone to the extent of climax of their ego and climax of jealousy (to others), to go to such level to say that I don’t know the meaning of the word ‘Smaarta’ (as user 1 says) and that...

The Three Philosophies: Advaita, Vishishtadvaita and Dvaita

[Crystal Clear Demarcation of three philosophies i.e., Advaita, Vishishtadvaita and Dvaita] Shankara preached Advaita Philosophy to four disciples directly and those four disciples must have understood His philosophy to the best because they heard Shankara directly. Those four disciples must have become God (Brahman) and should not have served anybody as slaves because God will not serve anybody since He is served by all. But, the four disciples served Shankara like slaves. When Shankara asked Padmapada (one of the four disciples) to bring the washed and dried saffron clothes from the other bank, Padmapada obeyed the order of Shankara more than a slave and walked across the river without fearing death by drowning!...

Shankara Correlated All Sub-Religions Of Hinduism

[August 24, 2016] (Recently some ardent devotees of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba approached Swami expressing their pain about the criticism of Baba from Shri Swamiji, the head of Dvaarakaapiith. Swami gave the following message to them).

Swami replied: I shall answer all the criticism of Shri Sai Baba that came from Shri Swamiji, the head of Shankara Peetha of Dvaaraka. I can’t tolerate this attack and this is the issue of prestige of My ancestral dynasty, the precious chain starting from Lord Dattatreya, whose human incarnations like Shri Padavallabha, Shri Narasimha Saraswati, Shri Maanikya Prabhu...

Attach To God Instead Of Self For Mental Peace

[May 07, 2016] Shri Karthik asked: I am adopting some special technique to attain peace by connecting myself (I) to pure awareness. Is it correct?

Shri Swami replied: It is certainly correct to attain mental peace by detaching yourself from the gross body and attaching yourself to the pure awareness. In this process, there is only self-effort. For scientists and atheists, this procedure is highly...

These Three Philosophies Confine To Human Incarnation Only

[January 25, 2016] Shri Hemantha kumar, Advocate, asked: I am very much interested in the correlation of three philosophies of Shankara, Ramanuja and Madhva (Trimata Samanvaya). Can you give it to me?

Shri Swami Replied: Shankara told monism (Advaita) between God and soul preaching that both are one and the same. Madhva told Dualism (Dvaita) between God and soul preaching that both are totally different since God is the master and the soul is His servant. Ramanuja told an intermediate state of special monism (Vishishta Advaita) existing between monism and dualism stating that God and soul are inseparable like fruit and its taste indicating monism, but, both are different due to dualism and ...

Advaita Reduced To Specific Case Of Incarnation

[July 15, 2015 third Part of Dr. Nikhil’s Questions] We can conclude all the above discussions by categorizing the whole subject in to three phases.

Unimaginable Phase: The existence of unimaginable entity can be noted in two ways: 1) the unimaginable boundary of this infinite universe is a standing proof for the existence of unimaginable entity. If you reach the edge of this imaginable universe, you must find something, which is different from imaginable phase. Beyond the edge of this imaginable universe, if you find again imaginable entity only, you cannot say that it is the end or edge of the imaginable universe since such a possibility gives only the continuation of the imaginable entity only....

Ego - The Root Of Sin

[December 06, 2014 Datta Jayanthi Day] Shri Lakshman asked: "Shri Ramana Maharshi gave lot of weight to the 'I', which is discarded by you now in order to eradicate the ego, which is a by-product. I like to hear your explanation in the light of the great sage Shri Ramana Maharshi".

Swami Replied:Shri Ramana Maharshi did not give weight to the concept of 'I'. Lot of weight was already given by Advaita philosophers to the 'I' representing the God. If Shri Ramana Maharshi colluded with this concept, He would have advised the spiritual aspirants to search for the 'I', which is the source of the entire creation and there cannot be another source of 'I' or God. He advised to search for the source of 'I'. This clearly indicates that 'I' is not God...

Message of Shri Datta Swami on Shirdi Sai Baba

July 12, 2014. Guru Purnima. Several devotees asked Shri Datta Swami "Jagadguru Shri Swami Swarupananda Saraswatiji, the Shankaracharya of Dwaraka Peetham, is making bitter comments about Shri Shirdi Sai Baba, who was the Human Incarnation of Lord Dattatreya. This has hurt the hearts of several devotees of Sai Baba very badly. Could you please give a strong reply to the Shankaracharya's bitter comments?" Given below is Shri Datta Swami's reply.

Today is Guru Purnima, which has become famous only due to Shri Shirdi Sai Baba. Thus, today is the fittest day for this topic. Swamiji (Swarupananda Saraswati) has made those comments without sharp and deep analysis. His comments are contradicting not only himself but also his original preacher, Aadi Shankara. He himself is a follower of the path called Smaarta, which is a mixture of different religious cultures within Hinduism...

Shankara Twisted The Truth To Break Outer Shell of Rigid Ignorance

[December 02, 2013 Shri Anil asked: You say that Shankara gave a twist to make the atheists become the theists. But, the same conversion could have been done with the help of true knowledge without any twist.]

Swami Replied: A Scholar is always like a guest speaker, who delivers the entire true knowledge without bothering about the level of the students. But, the class teacher is not so. The class teacher delivers the true knowledge in different stages observing the assimilation of the knowledge given. If necessary the twists are...

Unimaginable God Identifies with Imaginable Human Being

[October 12, 2013 2nd Message, Shri Phani kumar asked, 'how can the contradicting philosophies i.e., monism (advaita) of Shankara and the dualism (dvaita) of Ramanuja and Madhva can help the same human being in the same time?']

Swami replied: The same human being should identify the human incarnation as God and simultaneously should identify himself as not the God, being the servant of God. The first view is possible by the concept of Shankara...
