Speeches of Shri Datta Swami In First World Parliament On Spirituality Part-2

13) Caste and Gender:-

Caste and gender by birth must not be given any importance. Believing the gene theory in the caste, which only says that certain mannerisms are transferred in a dynasty, people confuse the mannerisms for qualities. God said in the Gita that caste shall be decided by qualities and subsequent deeds only (Gunakarma vibhaagashah). Gender is worse than caste since differentiation by gender is seen even in the same caste! Krishna is born in Yaadavas (BC caste) and the feet of His statue are washed by a Brahmin priest and the water after wash is drunk by the priest as holy water! Ravana, a Brahmin by birth, is never respected due to his worst qualities. Even the ego of gender is worst. The Veda says (Striyah satiih pumsah...) that God alone is male (Purusha) and that all the living beings are females (Prakruti) by having soul (Paraaprakruti) and inert body (Aparaaprakruti). The word ‘Purusha’ also means the soul or awareness pervading all over the body (puri shete) irrespective of the gender of the body. God Rama asked the male Brahmin sages to be born as female Yaadavas to remove their ego due to caste and gender. A Brahmana (Brahma nayati iti) is the person, who leads the society towards God through spiritual preaching and a Shuudra (Shochati iti) is the person, who is always worried of the materialistic progress.

14) Idol Worship:-

Idol worship means worshipping the representative models of God to improve theoretical devotion even though God is not directly present in idols. It is just like satisfying the theoretical love on seeing the album of dears. God enters only a human being on this earth for propagation of true spiritual knowledge and can be directly worshipped as Sadguru. The inert statue is associated with life initiation (Praanapratishthaa), which doesn’t mean that the inert statue becomes alive! It only means that the inert statue shall be associated with life for direct worship, which is the contemporary human incarnation as worshipped by the top most devotees like Hanuman and Gopikas. They didn’t worship the statues of energetic incarnations like God Vishnu or the statues of past human incarnations. Idol worship is not recommendable if the true concept is analysed. But, it is inevitable to the human devotees in the beginning, who can’t accept human incarnation due to ego and jealousy towards an alive co-human being. The Gita says that every beginning is inevitably defective. In order to remove this jealousy towards co-human beings, it is advised to serve the humanity as God to remove the repulsion between common media and to recognize the alive human incarnation or God in the common human body. The worship of the statues must not involve wastage of food materials except bath and external decoration for attraction.

15) Recitation of the Veda:-

Recitation of the Veda in Sanskrit language in rituals of Hinduism by priests is done blindly without explaining its meaning since the priest doesn’t know Sanskrit language. Even others participating in the ritual don’t know Sanskrit. The Veda was written in ancient time by sages since their mother tongue was Sanskrit. God is omniscient and knows every language on this earth. The meaning is important, which gives knowledge and devotion. Both these are the main aims of a ritual. When the meaning is not known, both these can’t be attained and the entire ritual becomes waste. In ancient time, writing technology was absent and hence, the Veda was preserved through recitation from one generation to the other so that insertions and deletions were also avoided. Apart from recitation, the sages studied its meaning also, which was the main effort. In fact, the word ‘Veda’ means knowledge. Knowledge alone can generate devotion. Today, the Veda is printed and well preserved. There is no need for recitation of the Veda to preserve it. A very long time is used in blindly reciting the Veda, which can be spent in studying its meaning. The priests developed a false theory that the very sound of the Veda does miracles, which is totally false and this is done to cover their defect and earn by blind recitation of the Veda in rituals. Either the priest shall explain its meaning or the Veda translated into mother tongue can be recited since God is omniscient. This is the basic misfortune of Hinduism, which is famous for the depth of spiritual knowledge! Other religions are fortunate since their scriptures written in mother tongue are read from the book directly by the priests.

16) Sacrifice (Yajna):-

Sacrifice (Yajna) in Hinduism is done by pouring ghee (clarified butter) as offering to God, which is meaningless custom developed by the ignorant priests, who blindly recite the Veda. As per scriptural rule (lakshanaa), here, ghee means food associated with lot of ghee (as you call the bearer of apples by calling him as ‘apples’). Agni means the priest to be served with this food in the beginning (Agni comes from Agri, which means to be served in the beginning) and this is clearly explained by the first hymn of the first Veda. In the ritual done for departed souls, the followers of the first Veda give this food in the hand of priest (paanihoma) without burning it in fire. The hunger fire in the priest is called as Agni by the name Vaishvaanara, in which, this food is to be burnt as per the Gita. The Agni is taken as the physical fire and the ghee is directly poured and burnt even though the Veda says that food shall not be destroyed. The physical fire is lit in Yajna to cook the food and not to destroy it. Sage Kapila told his mother while teaching spiritual knowledge to her that a fool burns ghee in physical fire. God Krishna told the wives of sages to give the ghee-food prepared for burning to His hungry friends thereby preaching the real meaning of sacrifice. Burning the sticks continuously in the name of Dhuni in the temple of Baba is also ignorance since the burning of Dhuni was done by Baba for the sake of protection from snakes etc., in the night and its smoke repelled mosquitoes in the old mosque. These sticks can be donated to poor as fuel, by which, Baba will be really pleased. Burning candles, fuming materials and oil lamps even though necessity of light doesn’t exist etc., are such ignorant undivine acts of devotees based on blind traditions. Burning the materials in fire in the name of God leads to pollution that stops the rains, which is told to cause the rains by ignorant priests! If Sadguru is given this food, all the deities dwelling in Him (the Veda says so) bring the rains.

17) Gayatri Hymn:-

Gayatri hymn in Hinduism is given lot of importance due to blind tradition developed by the blind tape recorder priests. This hymn means that we shall meditate upon Sun like Sadguru, whose shining like knowledge initiates our intellects. This hymn is called as Gayatri since it is in a meter called as Gayatri, which is not the real Gayatri. Gayatri in reality means the mode of singing (Gaayantam traayate iti) the praise of God through sweet songs and this real Gayatri is universal and is applicable to any caste, gender and religion. The sage of this Gayatri is Vishvaamitra, who means the friend for the entire world due to its universality.

The three holy threads put in this ritual represent the medium of God made of three qualities:- Sattvam-awareness, Rajas-inert energy and Tamas-inert matter. This ritual is called as Upanayanam, which means bringing the soul close to God. A saint, who knows this essential interpretation throws out the threads and is respected by Hindus as the highest divine person.

18) Philosophy of Shankara:-

Philosophy of Shankara in Hinduism is highly misunderstood since He was the highest genius. When Shankara appeared here, He was totally surrounded by atheists, who never believed in the existence of God other than themselves. Shankara developed a trick in three steps to make them say that God exists:- i) the human being is God, ii) the human being exits and iii) hence, God exists. The atheist is converted into theist and this is the greatest achievement of the highest genius! Now, the converted atheist asked that why he is not getting even a trace of highest miraculous power of God even after his realisation of himself as God. Shankara replied that he should worship God to get His grace to become God! God need not worship Himself to get His own grace on Himself! This revealed the real philosophy of Shankara that the imaginable soul or awareness (awareness is a specific work form of inert energy generated in a specific functioning nervous system), being a part of imaginable creation created by the unimaginable God, can’t be the unimaginable creator! Without understanding the context of surrounding atmosphere of the divine preacher, the ambitious follower is intensively attracted to the offer of achievement of God-treasure without a trace of any effort except to know himself as God! This gave lot of interest to almost all to study the spiritual knowledge with utmost care and Shankara succeeded tremendously in this primary step!

Every soul is God’ through perfect monism of Shankara- is one extreme step like flood. ‘No soul is God’ is another extreme step like draught as established by Madhva through perfect dualism. The fact is the middle path, which is that a selected soul by God becoming human incarnation is God. Ramanuja gave this middle path as a compromise of both extreme ends saying that the human being in the human incarnation is basically a separate part of God due to basic dualism, but, externally inseparable from God exhibiting God’s properties through external monism like an electrified wire exhibiting the shock (property of electricity) through monism in spite that both are basically different items (electricity is a stream of electrons and wire is a chain of metallic crystals). Datta Swami says that the unimaginable God need not be compared with imaginable electrified wire and the unimaginable God due to omnipotence can become the selected human being basically and externally through perfect monism to satisfy the highest type of devotees lacking even trace of jealousy, who were very anxious to see and hear from God directly (soul is God-Shankara). Simultaneously, the human incarnation can appear as dual basically or son of God (Ramanuja) and dual totally or messenger of God (Madhva) to other types of devotees having lesser jealousy and least jealousy respectively. As the egoistic jealousy of devotees decreases, they can be dragged from monism (Shankara) to dualism (Madhva).

The fundamental mistake leading to quarrels is that the three philosophies were applied to the case of God (electricity) and ordinary soul (non-electrified wire) whereas the three philosophies were confined to the human incarnation (electrified wire) only.

19) Difference Between Preacher and Scholar:-

Difference between preacher and scholar is that the preacher concentrates all importance on the practical uplift of the devotee standing on a specific step whereas the scholar concentrates all importance on the truth of the knowledge irrespective of its digestion by the devotee that helps his practical uplift. The preacher doesn’t mind whether he is preaching the truth or not and minds only the existing state of the receiver from which the receiver should be practically helped in the spiritual journey. The preacher will twist the truth due to his immense love for the receiver’s practical progress, if such twist helps the receiver to practically proceed further. The scholar has no love to the receiver except to project the truth in the knowledge and support the truth by any extent of logic in any direction. A patient is suffering with terrible headache developed by a wrong psychology by which he believed that a chameleon entered his head through his ear causing the headache. Every doctor refuted his belief to be wrong arguing that the size of the ear can never allow the size of chameleon and his headache was not cured by any doctor, who is like a scholar sincerely establishing the truth. The truth is established, but, the patient is not cured of the headache. This resembles to the statement that operation is successful, but, patient died! One doctor like the preacher, interested in the immediate cure of the patient, agreed to the argument of the patient, asked him to sit in a chair, caught a chameleon without the notice of the patient and threw it out from the hole of his ear by coming from back side saying the patient that the chameleon came out through the ear. The patient was cured from his headache!

Similarly, the three divine preachers twisted the true philosophy as per the context of the then existing receivers. Shankara told that soul is God in order to convert the egoistic atheist in to theist to make him say that God exists. Later on, Ramanuja told the theists with lesser ego, that soul is inseparable part of God. Finally, Madhva told the theists with least ego, that soul is totally separate from God except the least common point that both God and soul are having common awareness. Today, Datta Swami told the present devotees having good scientific analysis that the imaginable soul is so much different from the unimaginable God that you can’t even imagine any comparison between both since soul is a part of imaginable world and this is the truth relieved from all twists. Same God Datta exists in all these four divine preachers and He knows the ultimate truth without any twist and the twist was created by Him only in view of the context of the receiver to help him to practically progress further from where he stands in that time.

20) Ego and Jealousy:-

Ego and Jealousy are the last pair of the six vices, which are illegal sex & anger, greediness & fascination and ego & jealousy. The strength of the pairs increases from left to right. Even sages couldn’t get rid of this last pair and found faults with each other by establishing own theories and condemning the others’ theories. Crucifixion of Jesus and killing Swami Dayananda through food poisoning are the results of the force of this last pair only. If My neighbour ascended in the progress of materialism or spiritualism, I will weep secretly and then condemn him in public as I am caught by this pair. The human incarnation results when God descends (Avataara) down from His unimaginable domain into this imaginable domain (world) to become My neighbour, I shall reduce the force of this pair since My neighbour didn’t ascend (uttaara) up from this imaginable domain to the unimaginable domain to become God by his effort. This impossible conversion (unimaginable to imaginable and vice-versa) can be done only by unimaginable God due to His unimaginable power and can’t be done by imaginable soul due to its limited imaginable power. When somebody says that he is the human incarnation, I must not get ego and jealousy, if I carefully analyse his statement. It means only that the spiritual knowledge given and miracles shown by him are from God and not from him. If he says that he is not the human incarnation, it is projecting himself to say that the credit of knowledge and miracles goes to him and not to the God. The fast speed of this pair is so high that I am unable to analyse the statement patiently and I behave in reverse way due to My ignorance! Unless this pair is conquered by spiritual effort, one can’t identify the human incarnation, here, due to repulsion between common media (body of human being and body of human incarnation with common properties). In order to cross this repulsion, which hinders us to identify the human form of God, we must participate in the service of humanity to love co-human forms, overcoming hatred towards them. The common properties of the human medium like hunger, thirst, sleep, illness etc., are not interfered by the God charging it, just like the properties of copper wire (like leanness, red colour etc.,) are not interfered by the electricity charging it. Sometimes, negative properties are exhibited by the human incarnation to repel us if we are suffering with excess of ego and jealousy!

21) Human Incarnation:-

Human incarnation results only when God wishes to come down in human form to do some work related to the welfare of society in large (by establishing justice and condemning injustice) and devotees specifically for Pravrutti and Nivrutti respectively. Pravrutti (behaviour of human being towards co-human beings), related to the peace of entire society is the effort of God as you find in the scriptures of all religions. Even in the Gita, God said that He comes down for establishing justice and never said that He comes down for the sake of Nivrutti (soul developing personal relationship with God to become close to Him). The minimum and maximum expectation of God is that the humanity must live in peace by always supporting justice and this is the expectation of any father from his issues and any owner of the factory from his employees. Nivrutti is the effort from the side of the devotee and God discourages it by critical tests since its result is very high (Nivruttistu mahaaphalaa). A soul can’t become human incarnation by desiring for it, which is a disqualification. It is the wish of God to become human incarnation whenever necessity in this society demands for it and the selection of the human being suitable for a program depends on His wisdom only. In this selection, God sees mainly the basic quality, which is sacrifice that is needed for the service to co-human beings. God rejects the soul even if a trace of selfishness exists in the soul, which opposes any service to co-human beings. The only good quality liked by God is sacrifice and all other good qualities are neglected by Him. The only bad quality disliked by God is selfishness and all other bad qualities are neglected by Him. A hut with all defects having good scent is selected by you for entry and not a palace with all merits having bad odour!
