Were the many good deeds done by me, done due to God's will or my will?

[A satsaṅga took place between Swami and several devotees who visited Him on January 16, 2021. Some of the questions of devotees answered by Swāmi are given below.]

[A question by Śrī Ravinder Reddy]

Swāmi replied: There are two types of dreams. The first kind of dreams are due to the vāsanās or mental impressions acquired by you, due to the deeds done by you during the day. The second kind of dreams occurs when God enters into the dream to communicate with you. Similarly, there are two types of deeds. Some deeds are done due to one’s own will and some are done due to God’s will. Most good deeds that happen in this world are done only due to God’s will. It is wrong to say that everything is happening due to God’s will and it is very wrong to say that everything is happening due to human will-power alone. A murderer tries to be oversmart by claiming that he committed the murder only due to the will of God. The judge, who is even smarter says he too is passing the death sentence on him, due to the will of the same God! If God wishes to accomplish something through you, then He will take the full responsibility of the consequences. If you do something out of your own will, then you must take the full responsibility of the consequences.
