Path of Following Worldly Justice [Pravrutti]:
1. Unimaginable Boundary of Universe Indicates Unimaginable God

This message is the reply of Shri Datta Swami to the query of 'Human Excellency' in Speaking Tree forum. The above devotee asked about the need of existence of God and about the cheating behaviour of the devotees of God. He also questioned about the miraculous power of God, which is not used to change the minds of present politicians...

2. Do Hell and Heaven Exist?

This universe is infinite. I am unable to show the existence of these super worlds to you. I accept my incapacity. But you are also incapable of directly proving the non-existence of these super worlds. Have you searched all over the universe and said "Here ends the universe. Beyond this point there is no universe. This is the compound-wall of space. Your super worlds do not exist anywhere"? Therefore, there is an equal...

3. World Peace & Removal of Terrorism

There are two root causes for the entire chaos and terrorism in this world. One is the thirst for earning money and the other is the religious fanatic. Due to money, people are quarreling, whereas due to religion, countries are quarreling. Unless these two root causes are eradicated we cannot achieve world peace. The tree will not die by cutting leaves and branches. It dies only by cutting its roots. There is no use in earning the extra money...

4. Reasons for God Expressing in Different Forms in Hinduism

Why did God express Himself in different forms in a single Hindu religion in India? In the universe, God expressed Himself in a single form in every religion. In Christianity, there is only one expressed form i.e. Jesus. In Islam, there is only one expressed form i.e. Allah or Mohammad. But in Hindu religion, there are different expressed forms of God like Vishnu, Shiva...

5. Financial Corruption in India

What is the reason for India not developing compared to Christian and Islamic countries? The basic reason is only corruption that always hinders the development of the country, which is based on the public works like construction of dams etc. If you see the construction of dam by Mr. Arthur Cotton on Godavari River, there is no sign of damage even after 100 years. But if you see the public constructions like roads and dams done by Indians...

6. Wastage of Food is a Biggest Sin

Lord Krishna stated in the Gita that human beings with demonic nature are not only unaware of the path of pleasing God (path of liberation or Moksha marga) but also unaware of worldly justice (Pravrittimcha Nivrittimcha janana vidurasurah...). Demonic nature means that neither do they know on their own nor listen to others. This is due to ignorance combined with egoism. These people fail even in the worldly duties like marriages...

7. Veda Adhyayanam and Rituals

The word Adhyayanam means actually to know Veda and not to recite Veda. Ofcourse in olden days when there was no printing Veda was also recited. But the knowledge of Veda was discussed and practiced. Veda itself means knowledge. Shastra says that mere recitation of Veda is worst (Anarthajnah Paathakaadhamah) without knowing the knowledge. At present Vedas are published and computerized and so there is no need of mere recitation...

8. Status of Women in Hinduism

There is a misunderstanding that women were suppressed in Hinduism without independence. People quote Manu Smruti in this context, which says that woman should not be independent (Na stree svatantryamarhati...). But, the same Manu says that women should be worshipped to please God (Yatranaryastu pujyante ramante tatra devatah...). Both these contradict each other. If you are not giving even basic independence to somebody, how can you worship him or her?...

9. The Real Meaning of Gayatri Mantra

The meaning of Gayatri is a divine song, which protects the singer. Mantra means that divine sentence which attracts the mind and protects the person who utters it. If you join these two words, Gayatri Mantra means a divine song, which attracts the mind without any force by virtue of its sweetness and protects the singer. Poetry is better than the prose but song is better than poetry. The Gita says that the song is the best (Vedaanaam Saamavedosmi). Therefore any divine song that attracts your mind is Gayatri Mantra, which will please the Lord and will protect you...

Path of Liberation [Nivrutti]:
1. Aim of Human Life

In the materialistic plane, a person says that the aim of his life is to achieve a particular post [career objective] and then help his family members. Another person says that the aim of his life is to serve mankind. We appreciate the second aim as higher than the first one. The highest aim of human life can be known only in the spiritual plane. The sole aim of this creation is pleasing God through entertainment....

2. Authorities in Spirituality

To accept any concept, there are four authorities:

1) Shruti, the scripture, which is the divine text and it is the Veda for Hindus, 2) The second authority is Smruti, which is the text written by sages, 3) The third authority is logical discussion to find out the correct interpretation of the scripture, 4) The fourth authority is experience of divine scholars...

3. Identification of Human Incarnation of God

The main pre-requisite to identify the human incarnation is the complete removal of egoism and jealousy. The human body has the highest advantage on one side and the highest disadvantage on the other side. The highest advantage is that human beings can easily experience the Lord through the human body, which is most convenient for them. The highest disadvantage is that the human being repels against another human being due to the principle of nature i.e., likes repel likes. This repulsion is in the form of egoism and jealousy. The main purpose of God is to preach and guide human beings in the right spiritual path. The word Datta means 'given'...

4. Is Jesus The Only Path?

Meaning of Jesus: Jesus said that one can reach His Father through Him only and that He is the only path. Does this not mean that we have to follow only Jesus? In such case how can one accept Universal Spirituality? This is a question posed by several devoted Christians from all over the world.
My answer to these dear devoted holy Christian souls is as follows:

Does Jesus represent a human body? Or a word? Or both? If it represents a particular human body, then such a human body does not exist now. Only a particular human generation and that too, in a particular place was favored by the association of the human body of Jesus. Is it not the partiality of God?...

5. Prophets are Incarnations Only

How can you argue that the Lord cannot come down in human form? If He is incapable of doing so, He cannot be omnipotent. You also need not argue that even though the Lord is capable, that there is no necessity of such a human form. You may not have that necessity. But are you the only human being on this whole earth? Have you taken the opinion of all the human beings, to say this? There are several devotees, who belong to the path of Nivritti and desire the Lord in human form to see (Darshanam), to touch (Sparshanam), to hear the knowledge and clarify their doubts (Sambhashanam) and to live along with the Lord (Sahavasa) for long periods of time...

6. Swami Vivekananda's Anguish on India's Poverty

For Indians, their family bonds are very strong. Even if they have earned enough money to last for ten generations they will be working to save for eleventh generation. Foreigners send away even their own children (first generation) from the home to earn and live on their own after a certain age. The family bonds of foreigners are weak Therefore they are easily able to sacrifice money...

7. True Essence of Yoga

Yoga is the most prestigious field of spiritualism. People think about 6 wheels (Chakras) or lotus flowers present in the spinal card, which are not seen by the eyes. They are imaginary and so they carry some inner meaning. When you say a face as a moon, fools search for moon in that face. But, wise people see similarity in the face and moon. Similarly, wheels and lotus flowers should not be searched in the spinal card...

8. Scriptures on "Sacrifice of Money"

In the very beginning itself (second Adhyaya), Gita says that the fruit of the work must be sacrificed (Karmajam Buddhi Yuktahi Phalam Tyaktva Maneeshinah). This means that realized scholars sacrifice the fruit of the work. Gita keeps sacrifice of the fruit of the work on the top most level. Gita says 'Jnanat dhyanam visishyate, Dhyanat Karma Phala Tyagah' i.e., Bhakti (devotion) is better than Jnana...

9. Paripurna Advaita

The true Advaita of Shankara is only in the aspect of enjoying this creation by a soul just as God enjoys it. The following analogy is given to understand this concept. The director-cum-producer of a cinema, after producing the cinema, himself sits in the audience to watch and enjoy it. His helper also sits along with him and enjoys the cinema. In this aspect of enjoying the cinema as spectators, there is no difference between the two. Of course, this similarity does not make the helper identical with the producer of the cinema. In the context of the producing of the cinema, the difference between the two always remains...
