Why did God allow the killing of innocent children by Herod and Kamsa, in their attempts to kill baby Jesus and baby Krishna respectively?

[Śrī Anil asked: Some people make the accusation that it is unfair that many innocent chidren below the age of 2 years got killed by king Herod who wanted to kill baby Jesus. They say that the death of those innocents is not justified when Jesus had come to establish peace and love in the world. A similar incident also occurred during the time of God Kṛṣṇa. Could You kindly respond to this accusation?]

Swāmi replied: The killing of the innocent children clearly shows the demonic nature of Herod and Kaṃsa. When the true spiritual knowledge is misinterpreted, misunderstood and practiced in a wrong direction, God comes in human form to correct the knowledge that gives direction to humanity. The climax injustice done by those demons indicates the prevailing circumstances in the world making the arrival of God-in-human-form necessary.
