Are we not exploiting God, if we serve Him with an expectation that He will take care of us in return?

[Reply to  question by Kum. Laxmi Thrylokya.] Swāmi replied: The expectation of any fruit from God in return for our service and sacrifice will be treated as business devotion. In business devotion, there is an expectation of practical boons from God in exchange for the devotee’s practical devotion. Business devotion is, of course, better than prostitution devotion, in which the devotee expects practical boons from God in exchange for mere theoretical devotion. Issue devotion, which is the type of love we have for our children, is the highest. In issue devotion, we do not expect any fruit in return for the service and sacrifice that we do for our children. This aspiration-free sacrifice and service is only way to prove our real love for God.
