Dattam Chhinnam

O Learned and Devoted Servants of God,

When you see your son, your love flows on him spontaneously. Do you love him, since he serves you? No. Even if he beats you, you love him and you give your property to him only. But, what about God? You love Him only because He removes your difficulties and gives you benefits. If He keeps silent to your prayers, you will remove His photo and put another photo of God. If He gives troubles to your prayers, you will crush His photo! But, you love your son, whether he serves you or not and even if he troubles you. People often say that if we worship Datta, He gives troubles. Yes, it is true. But, if you know, what is really happening, you will jump and fall at the feet of Datta. Do you know what He is doing? He drags to present, all the sins, which you have to receive in the future, and 90% of those punishments, He undergoes. 10% you have to receive which is the minimum justice. Since you have done the sins, you have to undergo at least a little of it. You are paying only 10% now and 100% sins are cleared. Now, your future life is cleared with full happiness.

The pains of operation performed by the doctor are temporary and you are going to enjoy a happy life in future as the disease is fully cured. “Dattam Cchinnam” is said which means “Datta cuts”. What does this mean? He operates and removes the sin completely. He clears all your future debts. He pays 90% and makes you pay 10%. When you pay 10%, you are taking it as a loss given by Datta. Then, let Datta clearly show the fact. No. He will not show. If He shows everyone will love Him and such a love is not true love. If anyone is benefiting you, you love him, naturally. But, if someone is troubling you, still if you love him, that is real love, which is shown by you on your troubling son. So, Datta appears as if He is troubling you. He is really helping you and this part is hidden by Him. This is called “Datta Test”. Doctor appears with a knife to cut your stomach to remove ulcer. You mistake him as a murderer! He will not reveal the truth to you to see whether you have real confidence on Him or not. Your faith and love on Him must be to that level, in which you should think, “even if He murders me, I like it, because how sweet it is to die in His hands!” Bhishma thought similarly, where Lord Datta in the form of Krishna ran towards him to kill in the battle. So, worship Datta, even if He gives troubles, because, they will give you permanent happiness like the operation done by a doctor. Like a doctor, Datta, always sees your welfare only.

What do you mean by worship? Prayers? Meditation? No, No. Prayers involve words. Meditation involves mind. Worship means action i.e., service, called Karma Yoga, which consists of two parts.

1. Karma Samnyaasa: Sacrificing your work for the sake of God

2. Karma Phala Tyaaga: Sacrificing a part of your fruit (money) of your work for the mission of the God.

Where is Datta? Datta means God given to the world in human form. When electricity is traveling as electrons in the atmosphere, you cannot touch it. But when it enters the wire and pervades all over the wire, you can touch it. Similarly, you cannot see Datta, who is pervading all over the world. When He enters the human body, you can see Him. Among these human beings, how to recognize Him? Recognize Him by His characteristic property like the heat of the fire. That is Jnana (knowledge). The Veda says that He is Jnana. (Satyaṃ Jñānam…). Even the scholars are giving Jnana. How to recognize Him among the Scholars? He is also bliss or ananda. The Veda says “Ānando Brahma”. His Jnana gives you bliss in the heart. Jnana of Scholars gives headache. As the wind carries the coolness of the river, His preaching carries the bliss. Miracles are His jewels only, which can be given by Him even to demons. In fact, demons like Ravana showed miracles. Miracles are not His characteristic properties.

Lord Datta comes in human form in every generation of mankind. Otherwise, He become partial if He blesses only one human generation. He comes down and preaches knowledge and devotion in the world. Recognize Him and join His mission as a servant by doing Karma yoga and serve Him in the propagation of knowledge and devotion. Don’t think that you are helping Him. You are only serving Him. Your property is His property and you are also a part and parcel of His property.

Is there a possibility of His clearing the debts 100% by Himself? Yes. He will do so, if you serve Him without aspiring anything in return from Him and if your service continues even if He troubles you. Your love must be real and must be proved in action by sacrifice of work and money.
