[Smt. Chhandaa asked:- Swami, You told that the story of Radha was written in Bhagavatam by Sage Vyaasa and it was later on deleted by Himself with the fear of exploitation-based damage to the society in future. Please elaborate this point.]
Swami replied:- Sage Vyaasa wrote the story of Radha in the Bhagavatam. Actually, he did not delete this story by himself. Some of his followers deleted this story fearing the future damage of the society. Sage Vyaasa already wrote the Mahaa Bhaaratam in which Draupadi with five husbands was existing and that too in continuous relationship with all the five husbands simultaneously. Will such Sage Vyaasa fear to project Radha, who left one husband without touching him and not touched by him and married God Krishna as second husband in real sense? In fact, Radha is married only with one husband, God Krishna, in view of the above circumstances. The first marriage happened in her childhood without her knowledge and consent. The ethical scriptures at the time of Sage Vyaasa allowed the second marriage in five conditions even though the female was in relationship with the first husband previously. In the case of Radha, the relationship with the first husband was totally absent in any angle like mind or words or body. The latter generation of the followers of Sage Vyaasa know that their ancestors made this deletion of the story of Radha from the Bhāgavatam and felt it as sin done by their ancestors. They wanted to insert the story of Radha in the Bhagavatam. But, by that time, the Bhagavata Puraanam became very popular and insertion of the story of Radha will be easily detected by the public and therefore, the public will reject it as insertion. Hence, they inserted this story of Radha in the other Puraanams, which were not popular in the public. This is the actual truth behind the story of Radha.
