Swami answers questions of devotees

1. What truly matters while choosing a partner?

[Ms. Amudha Sambath asked: Pada Namaskaram Bhagavan Shri Datta Swami🙏🏻🙇🏻‍♀️ Swami, I seek Your kind guidance. I am struggling to trust and accept people, especially while thinking about marriage. You have taught that while selecting a life partner, we must mainly check two qualities:

1. The person is a true believer of God.

2. The person has believef in God’s administration.

Swami, my parents are concerned about aspects like whether the person has his own house, financial stability, good character and they insist on seeing these factors. They also ask me to avoid profiles from abroad. Friends and relatives say I should check whether his job or field matches mine, and also consider horoscope compatibility (can we consider a profile if the horoscope matches only around 50%). Swami, kindly guide me—among all these factors, what should I accept and what should I ignore? What truly matters when choosing a partner?

Swami, besides this, I am facing another problem. I am unable to trust or accept anyone. And when I like a person, the other person is not interested. This also makes me confused and worried, Swami. Sometimes, deep inside, I feel I don’t want to get married at all. When I speak to someone for a few days or weeks, I feel stressed and I feel like not continuing. I do not know if something is wrong in my thinking, or myself. Swami, Iis it okay to not marry?

Please forgive me, Swami, if there is any mistake in my thoughts or my question. I feel bad that I am taking Your time with worldly matters, but Swami, where else can I go? Only You can guide me on the right path. Please bless me with clarity in everything, Swami. I will follow whatever You say and leave aside my likes, dislikes and all Swami. Thank You, Swami, for all the knowledge, blessings, and Your unconditional love towards us. I am truly grateful for everything, Thank You, Swami. At Your Divine Lotus Feet Swami🙇🏻‍♀️🙏🏻]

Swami replied:- All the factors mentioned by you are also important. The two points told by Me stand on the top. That alone is My idea. You continue chanting the Mahā Mantra ‘Śrī Āñjaneya Śrī Subrahmaṇya’. Things will settle in right way. Have some patience.

2. Why did Kuchela suffer from poverty?

[Ms. Kiranmai Kancharla asked: Pada Namaskaram Swami, I remember in one of the satsang You told that Kuchela didn't share snacks with Krishna when they were kids so due to that reason he suffered from poverty later. But I believe Lord Krishna would never make his friend suffer from poverty for not sharing a handful of grains. If God himself doesn't have an issue with not sharing snacks then why did Kuchela suffer from poverty? Please enlighten me Swami. At Your Divine Lotus Feet, Kiranmai]

Swami replied:- It is not the question of Lord Krishna’s personal friendship with Kucela or Sudāma. It is the general concept that if you steal God’s money, you will lose everything and become a beggar.

3. Please reveal the reason behind applying Candan, Vibhuti and Kumkum on forehead?

[Smt. Sudha Rani asked: Padanamaskaram Swami. Thank You Swami for Your unconditional kindness and bearing my defective attitude. Swami, please reveal the reason behind the most basic culture of Hindus, which is applying Chandan, Vibhuti and Kumkum on forehead, also the best method of this practice. Thank You Swami! always at Your Lotus Feet. Sudharani.]

Swami replied:- Candanam is the mark for God Brahmā. Kumkumam is the mark for God Vishnu. Vibhuti is the mark for God Shiva. All the three are combined in the mark for God Datta from whom the Divine Trinity came out independently to do creation, maintenance and destruction of the world separately.
