O Learned and Devoted Servants of God
Prayer:
Om Parabrahma samārambhām,
Śrī Dattātreya madhyamām|
Śrī Satya Sāī paryantām,
vande guru paramparām||
[I, Datta Swami, salute the lineage of My spiritual preachers, which starts with Parabrahman or unimaginable God, then God Dattatreya, the first energetic incarnation in the middle and finally ends with Shri Satya Sai.]
Bhagavaan Shri Satya Sai Baba is very important human incarnation of God Datta. He arrived at the correct time in Kali Yuga. Miracles are very very essential especially in the Kali Yuga in which atheism is very much predominant. An atheist always believes in perception (pratyaksha pramaanam) alone. But, God is beyond perception since God is beyond space and time. Anything beyond space has no spatial dimensions and such thing can never be imagined by the intellect of anybody in the creation. The knower of God is God Himself (Brahmavit Brahmaiva bhavati… - Veda). Nobody other than God can even imagine the unimaginable God called Parabrahman. If God is to be seen by any soul, it becomes possible only when God is mediated by some visible and imaginable medium. But, if God comes in imaginable and visible medium, people will think the medium itself as God. Since God is beyond medium, God cannot even be imagined by any living being. At least, the medium in which God is present can be taken as God because God merged with that medium. The electricity (stream of electrons) is not visible, but, we can treat the electrified wire as electricity only since the electricity merged with the wire. But, the actual problem is that people cannot differentiate electrified wire from non-electrified wire due to the invisible nature of electricity. Therefore, it becomes very difficult to identify the electrified wire with naked eyes even though the electricity is present in the wire in merged state.
To solve this problem, you have to accept the inference (anumaana pramaanam) as an alternative authority to perception. Even the inference is based on perception only. The steps of inference authority are: i) You have seen the fire in the kitchen emitting some smoke. ii) You have drawn a generalized conclusion that wherever there is smoke, there must be fire. iii) You have seen smoke coming down from the top of the hill. iv) Now, you apply the above said generalized connection of smoke and fire (vyaapti) to the present situation and conclude that there is fire on the top of the hill. Even though you have not seen the fire on the top of the hill with your naked eyes, you will certainly find the fire on the top of the hill if you climb the hill to see the fire. Therefore, you have seen the invisible fire by standing on the earth itself, without directly seeing it present on the top of the hill.
Since God is unimaginable, the source of any unimaginable event called miracle must be the unimaginable God only. Since creation is imaginable, the imaginable creation must be the source of any imaginable event seen by you. This is scientific logic and I am proceeding purely with scientific analysis only since we are dealing with the atheists, who believe only perception. Hence, if a miracle is found, we can easily conclude that the source of the miracle is unimaginable God. When God comes in a medium, such medium is called the incarnation of God. Such incarnation on earth is human incarnation because God comes down in human form. God merges with a selected human devotee and such selected human being becomes the contemporary human incarnation of God. The energetic incarnation is relevant to the upper worlds and hence, for us, who are living on this earth, the human incarnation of God alone is completely relevant.
Since the mediated Parabrahman (unimaginable God) exhibits unimaginable miracles, we can understand that the unimaginable God or Parabrahman is in the human incarnation in merged state with the human being, which is seen by us. When we touch the electrified wire, shock is experienced by us and we infer the presence of electricity in the electrified wire. You can even detect the presence of electricity in the wire with the help of a tester. Due to flowing electricity in the wire, the light in the tester glows. Even in the case of tester, the inference authority is only involved to detect current.
The divine program of Shri Satya Sai Baba, the human incarnation of God Datta, starts with the program of answering atheists in the beginning itself. Hence, Baba performed several miracles in the childhood itself. Human beings are always characterized by ego based jealousy. Every human being on seeing any greater human being immediately thinks “Why am I also not a greater human being like that greater human being seen by me?”. This is the spontaneous tendency of entire humanity. One scientist told Me “What is there in the miracles of Baba? As per E=mc2, He is just condensing energy into matter by taking some cosmic energy, which is freely available. He is not doing anything beyond science”. Immediately, I asked him “Why don’t you do the same thing being a better scientist than Baba?”. The scientist at once changed the topic of the conversation! Another scientific genius commented like this “Baba is not creating matter. If He creates a sweet, it means that the same sweet disappeared from a sweet shop elsewhere and appeared in the hand of Baba. He is not doing anything beyond law of conservation of energy and matter”. I questioned him in the same manner as above. Then, the genius told Me “Excuse me. I have to go to rest room for the sake of urinals!”.
These miracles are practical scientific experiments for the proof of the existence of unimaginable God. Hence, we can call the spiritual knowledge as spiritual science that involves both teaching in classroom and in practical laboratory. Let any scientist or atheist explain the present miracle taking place in Hindupuram of Satya Sai District in which a small marble statue of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba is emitting water since many months and gallons of water flowed so far. This miracle is also related to Shri Satya Sai Baba because Shri Satya Sai Baba declared in His childhood itself that He is the re-incarnation of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba.
Several spiritual scholars say that miracles are of very low level in the spiritual path. 99% of these people speak negatively about miracles like this only because they are actually unable to do the miracles. The fox jumped several times to catch the grape fruits. It could not catch even a single grape fruit. Then, it commented that it is not interested in grapes since grapes are very sour! Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa also commented that miracles are of low level. Here, the low level means the beginning level. Convincing atheist through miracles and turning him into theist is the beginning stage of spiritual path. After recognizing the existence of God, then only anybody will try to reach God through spiritual knowledge, theoretical devotion and practical devotion. Recognizing the existence of God (astītyevopalabdhavyaḥ - Veda) through miracles is the step of foundation without which the entire upper building (further spiritual effort) cannot stand firm. After childhood, Shri Satya Sai Baba concentrated on spiritual knowledge through several speeches, concentrated on theoretical devotion by singing sweet divine songs and concentrated on practical devotion by inspiring the devotees to do practical spiritual works in the name of God. A professor teaches PG classes, but if necessary, he can also teach the LKG class. Let us give the following tribute to Shri Satya Sai Baba on this holy day.
O Satya Sai! O Nitya maayi!
Kaivalya daayi! Sahyaadri Shaayi!
Had You not come in correct time in this Kali age,
All temples would have become shopping malls,
This world would have been destroyed by atheism.
