(Some of my friends and colleagues have asked these personal questions about their worldly life and family life. I have sent those questions to His Holiness Shri Datta Swami to seek the spiritual answers and the answers are given by Him as below. The devotees want to stay anonymous and hence, their names are not mentioned. Swami again and again stressed that in the context of any problem, when we study spiritual knowledge about God, all these ignorant questions will not arise in the mind and chanting the Maha Mantra "Shri Anjaneya Shri Subrahmanya" will resolve all kinds of worldly problems. - Ms. Thrylokya)

1. Why is God testing me so much with difficulties?

[Devotee-1 (Female) asked:- My life has never been good since 15 years after my marriage. I am constantly undergoing some problem all the time. As soon as one problem ends, another problem starts. I worship God every day without fail. Whenever I get time, the name of God comes to my mind spontaneously. Why is God testing me so much with difficulties?]

Swami replied:- You stop worshipping God for some time and see how the intensity of your problems will increase. Then, you will not get this question in your mind. Problems come due to your own bad deeds done in the past and God helps to reform you through problems and not for taking revenge on you. Personal worship of God is only theoretical soaping without any practical participation in the mission of God. If you want to attain practical fruit from God, then you must participate in the mission of God through practical sacrifice and practical service. If you worship God with theoretical soaping technology like chanting, singing, meditation etc., God will also take your name before angels, sing on you and meditate upon you. But, He will not help you practically. Theoretical boons are given for  theoretical worship and practical boons are given for practical worship.

2. What is the sin done in the past that is making me suffer so much continuously?

[I feel that it is beyond my capacity to handle these problems. What is the sin I have done in the past that is making me suffer so much continuously?]

Swami replied:- What is the use of knowing the past sin? How to get rid of this current punishment is the present point. At least, from now onwards, don’t do any kind of sin. Non-repetition of the sin is the most important practical step by which God is pleased to cancel the punishments of previous sins. The government does not sympathize any sinner undergoing justified punishment. But, if there is good change in the behaviour, the government has power to reduce the term of the punishment. You are continuing to do sins. You analyse and realise those sins. Then, repent before God. Then, do not repeat any sin in the future life. These three steps give reformation to you by which God is pleased and grants relief from miseries.

3. Why is God not giving me good time?

[Scholars say that good time and bad time comes in alternative cycles. I believed it and waited a lot for good time. My life only worsened as time advanced. I have no hope if it could become better. Why is God not giving me good time?]

Swami replied:- If you have done some good deeds in sequence without any gap for some time and also did some bad deeds in sequence without any gap in the latter time, then, God will arrange good fruits and bad fruits alternatively so that you will not have continuous good fruits or continuous bad fruits that leads to boredom or misery respectively. If this is your case, you should have got some good time after some bad time. But, in the recent previous birth, suppose you have done all bad deeds only. In such case, your present life will be permanently filled with miseries. You cannot expect any good time since there were no good fruits in your balance account. In this case also, if you reform yourself as advised by Me above and also worship God sincerely, you will be protected by God.

4. Am I becoming the cause of the loss occurred to my children?

[Devotee-2 (Male) asked:- My father is not alive and both my children are above 25 years of age. I have deep resentment that my mother did not divide the property among our siblings equally. Due to this, my children are at loss compared to my brother's children. I feel sorry for my children that they are suffering for being born to me. I am becoming the cause of their loss and this thought is killing me from inside.]

Swami replied:- Do you think that property is given by parents? God is the only giver of every property to every soul using other souls and situations as His medium. Even if property is given by parents, it will perish in due course of time if God’s will is not there. If God is pleased with you, you will get immense and eternal property. Instead of burning on this issue unnecessarily, you burn for God. Anything can change in a fraction of a second by His will. The deeds and fruits are specific for each soul. One soul can’t be responsible for the punishment of the other soul, be it parent, child, siblings etc.

5. Did I cheat anyone in my past birth so that I got cheated by another person in this birth?

[I have invested most of my savings in a pre-launch offer for construction of a Villa. Due to legal issues, the construction is halted and my money is lost. My entire family is just living on my salary without any savings in hand. What is God trying to tell me through this incident? Will I get back my money? Did I cheat anyone in my past birth so that I got cheated by another person in this birth?]

Swami replied:- Every punishment is based on its specific previous sin only. You worship Goddess Maha Lakshmi with utmost sincerity. She will certainly help you.

6. How should me and my husband handle our son?

[Devotee-3 (Female) asked:- My son is 14 years old and he has become extremely rebellious at home. Both my husband and myself are unable to control him. He is giving back answers for everything and rejecting us completely. When we try to discipline him, he is threatening us that he would commit suicide or leave the home. My husband got diabetes and BP due to this stress and frustration. Now a days, we are not allowed to beat our children unlike our parents and teachers did to discipline us. How should me and my husband handle our son?]

Swami replied:- You show immense love on your son and teach him the morals. Don’t show any force. He will be reformed soon.

7. How should I convince my daughter to leave bad behaviour?

[Devotee-4 (Female) asked:- My daughter is 12 years old. I accidentally found a love letter written in her hand writing. I was devastated, but did not reveal to my husband since he becomes aggressive and violent at times. When I asked her, she is unapologetic about her action, saying all her friends have boyfriends. She is too young to understand that love means sacrifice and not self-pleasure. But, she is very confident that she knows everything. I am crying every single night that I failed in her parenting as a mother. I am afraid that if her father comes to know about it, he will get her married as soon as she turns 18 without allowing her into higher education. I also cannot take this stress every day. Should I tell her father? Otherwise, how should I convince her to leave such bad behaviour?]

Swami replied:- You try to convince your daughter by raining immense love on her. Telling your husband is the last resort. If you happen to tell your husband also due to inevitable necessity in due course of time, speak to your husband in the same way as you have spoken to your daughter with immense love. Love is a very powerful weapon and never gets defeated. Also, pray God for your successful dealing.

8. Which father will give his daughter to me when my own parents are not supportive?

[Devotee-5 (Male) asked:- I am above 35 years of age and still unmarried. My parents are rejecting all the alliances that come to me by saying some reasons. Years ago, my uncle told me that my parents are deliberately doing this because they are afraid that I would stop giving money to them if I get a spouse and children. I couldn't believe that and avoided him. Now, I feel that his words are true. My parents still say that they are sincerely searching a good match for me. But, I lost hope on them. I don't have any girlfriend and I am not good at attracting women. Which father will give his daughter to me when my own parents are not supportive? Will I remain unmarried forever?]

Swami replied:- You yourself can get married with the help of matrimony and other services available in the society. If your parents oppose it, then go for a register marriage along with small ritual at God’s altar. Your parents will certainly follow you. Even if they refuse to follow you, you can take the help of good people like your uncle. Worship God Shri Rama every day.

9. Which God will speak like the following?

[Devotee-6 (Male) asked:- I am 24 years old and I am suffering from uncontrollable lustful thoughts. I frankly revealed this to my father and asked him to get me married. I also told him to choose a good girl, who fits in our family as per his wish. But, what he told me just shattered my heart. He said "Your cousins are earning 3 times more and hence, they got good dowry and respect in society. You focus on achieving a better salary package. Until then, you either do masturbation or visit a slut house if needed. I am not going to compromise on your dowry and lose my prestige”. Scriptures say that mother and father are God. Which God will speak like this?]

Swami replied:- The meaning of the scripture is that God is mother and God is father. It is not that the mother and the father are God. Since your father is highly unjust in the eyes of God, perform your marriage by yourself with the help of matrimony and register marriage. In the last minutes, your father will join you.

10. How to select a good life partner, who is interested in me?

[Devotee-7 (Male) asked:- I have crossed by 30’s and I have seen 50+ alliances for marriage. I found that every women is interested in my salary and my inherited properties rather than my personality and ambitions. Hence, I have rejected all of them. Isn’t the materialism growing in women? How to select a good life partner, who is interested in me?]

Swami replied:- Every girl is basically interested on her food and minimum necessities, which cannot be generated by your personality and ambitions. If you have such a good personality, try to act in TV serials at least and earn some money so that at least some actress in the TV serial will select you! It is purely your ego that is making you think that you have a great personality. Even if you haven’t rejected the women, they would have rejected you. Hence, worship God Rama every day so that your ego gets reduced and your devotion to God shines as diamond in your personality and God will help you to solve your problem.
