Why did God speak to Prophet Muhammad through angel Gabriel while He spoke directly in the case of Jesus?

[Shri Anil asked: In the Quran it is depicted that Prophet Muhammad receives the knowledge (Quran) from angel Gabriel, then subsequently He speaks that knowledge to others. In the Bible, angel Gabriel spoke to Mother Mary that she will give birth to Jesus by God’s intervention. But when Jesus entered into the mission of propagation of knowledge, a voice from heaven spoke “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” Swami, I want to know why it is depicted as angel Gabriel conveying message to Muhammad, but, in the case of Jesus, God Himself spoke directly from heaven and Gabriel did not speak?

Swami replied: God can speak directly or He can speak indirectly through an angel devoted to Him. Such points should not be raised to establish the superiority or inferiority of any specific religion.
