Why did Jesus speak the divine knowledge in the form of parables and not directly?

Why did Jesus not speak in a direct way so that all common public will understand and learn the divine knowledge straightaway?]

Swami replied:- Parables will help a lot in understanding the concepts. In fact, parables are more needed for uneducated common people. Scholars can understand the concepts even without parables. Teaching children with the help of parables is common throughout the world. An uneducated person is equal to the child in the level of ignorance. If a parable exists, it is not inconvenient for a scholar in understanding. But, if the parable exists, an uneducated person can understand the concept more clearly. Hence, teaching with parables is universal.
