Why do You always say that You are not Lord Datta? Will Your denial not shake the faith of devotees?

[An online spiritual discussion was conducted on December 12, 2020, in which several devotees participated. Some of the questions of devotees answered by Swāmi are given below.]

[Reply to a question by Śrī Surya.] Swāmi replied: Do you think that all of you believe Me to be an Incarnation of God Datta, just because I said so? If that were the truth, anybody else could also make that same claim. Would you believe such a claim, just because that person said so? You believed what I said because you found it to be true after perfect analysis through sharp logic. Seeing the excellent unimaginable quality of My spiritual knowledge, you believed that God Datta has merged with Me and is speaking the true spiritual knowledge through My mouth. Hence, you concluded that I must be an Incarnation of God Datta.

If I say that I am not God Datta and if your faith vanishes by My statement, is it true faith attained after deep analysis? The reason for your faith or disbelief should be your own analysis and not My statements. When I make such statements, you can think that I am testing the strength of the faith that you have developed as a result of your own confirmed analysis. I have one specific purpose to deny My divinity and that is, in due course of time, in this Kali age, you may easily get attacked by ego-based jealousy. This virus of ego and jealousy is like the corona virus that can attack you more easily when the weather is cold (Kali Age). This statement of mine that I am not God Datta serves as an advance vaccine to resist the attack of that virus. If I say that I am God Datta, the virus will gain more strength and attack you in the future. As a result, you will lose all this faith and become the greatest loser.
