Creating Phulkas in Shirdi
Shri Koneru Satyanarayana, a resident of Vijayawada, decided to undertake a pilgrimage to Shirdi and took his wife, Smt. Sivakanchana Latha and his mother, Smt. Chittemma, along with him. Our Swami also happened to go along with them. In Shirdi, Swami proved a miraculous truth and astonished Shri Satyanarayana. That morning, in Shirdi, Swami miraculously created two Phulkas and placed them in Shri Satyanarayana's hands and said, "Shirdi Sai gave these to Me. Donate these Phulkas, one each, to a beggar and a dog." Satyanarayana was surprised and took those phulkas and while walking, he gave the two phulkas to a beggar who came across him on the way to the temple. The beggar, who received the phulkas, examined them by turning them back and forth and then fed them to a black dog that was there. Hearing this incident, I questioned Swami like this.
"Swami! Shirdi Baba told Shri Satyanarayana to give those phulkas, one each, to a beggar and a dog. But he donated the phulkas to a beggar there and the beggar fed those two phulkas to a black dog." It is wonderful. Could You please tell us the divine secret behind this? Thus, we prayed to Swami.
Swami explained it like this. “Who is Shirdi Baba? He is Lord Datta. In this incident, Swami proved how the love of God will be on His devotees. The fact is that Shirdi Baba blessed one phulka to a beggar and one phulka to a dog. But Satyanarayana gave those two phulkas to the beggar. Do you know who that beggar was? He was Lord LakshmiNarayana. Of the two phulkas He received, one was for Himself and one for the dog. That beggar, who was actually the incarnation of LakshmiNarayana, fed the phulka of the dog to the dog and fed the phulka to be eaten by Him also to the dog, who was a devotee and He was satisfied. This is the secret. So, does this not prove how much love Swami has for His devotees?" asked Swami.
