Samnyasi Testing Swami in Srisailam:
In those days, Swami was treated as a devotee of Lord Datta. Swami, my wife and I were in Srisailam. That day, after worshipping God Shri Mallikarjuna, we went to the temple of Mother Bhramaramba. The three of us were standing in the temple of Bhramaramba Devi. In that temple, an old broken bell is tied up with a rope at a great height. Unless you jump hard to that height, you can't reach that bell. It's a broken bell! That's why no one tries to ring it. In front of it, a new bell is tied down at a low height. Everyone is ringing that new bell only. A saint was seen at some distance in the temple. The saint was looking at Swami continuously. Our Swami seems to be looking like a ‘Siddha Purusha’ to him. The saint seemed to be thinking seriously. That saint was seriously doubting in his mind whether "Swami a Siddha Purusha? Or not?" He thought again, "If He is a Siddha Purusha, He should come back and ring that old bell." Swami, being omniscient, recognized his mental feeling; he looked at him and smiled, then came back, quickly jumped up and rang the old bell. Noticing that action, the saint came to Swami and introduced himself and then came to the Shiva Sadanam, where we were staying. He explained us what he felt in the temple in detail. All this was known to Swami. Swami smiled.
From then onwards, that saint used to come and have darshan of Swami every day. One day, I said to the saint about Swami like this. “He is the devotee of Lord Datta. He had got the darshan of Lord Datta.” But the saint stood up abruptly in jealousy with a negative facial expression said, "Oh! Did He see Lord Datta? Or did He see a ghost?" and laughed wickedly. Swami, who had been sitting until then, stood up suddenly, turned His eyes red and said, “O Samnyasi! You are flying high by achieving some minor miraculous powers. You are the disciple of a great Swami. You have used your powers of black magic on your own Guru. That's why he kicked you out. What a grave betrayal you have committed against your Guru. Go! Fall at His feet. He can bless you," thus Swami warned the saint. Then the saint wickedly smiled again in a loud voice and said, "Everything You said is a fabricated story." Saying this, he went back to his residence in anger.
With uncontrollable anger and jealousy, the saint performed Chandi worship that night and did witchcract against Swami. Swami is omniscient! What is there that He does not know? He remained smiling. But we were very much scared seeing those incidents and listening those conversations that happened in front of our eyes. Then Swami said, "It's okay; you sleep peacefully." We were in the room in the Shiva Sadan. We were in very sound sleep. Later, someone was banginng our room door. We got up and opened the door. Surprising! The saint rushed in quickly. He fell at the feet of Swami, who was already sitting on the cot and begged for forgiveness. Swami lifted him up and made him sit down. Then the saint explained in a mild voice like this.
"Swami! You are omniscient. Everything you have said about me is true. Please make my Guru bless me again. This is a secret that no one knows! You know it! Last night, while I was doing Chandi worship and the Shri Chakra worship to harm you, Mother Jagadamba appeared in front of me, looking at me with fiery sight and firmly hit me on the head with her ringed fingers. "Go and fall at the feet of Swami and surrender to Him," she ordered. That is why I came running in panic. "Swami! Forgive me and guide me," he prayed. Then Swami smiled with immense affection and preached to him like this: “From now onwards, keep away from evil thoughts and travel on the justified path.” Swami said that the name of that saint should not be mentioned here. “He should protect his honor,” He said. Aha! How great is Swami’s compassion!
Divine Mother (Cosmic Mother or Jagadamba) herself gave a testimony of Swami’s divinity! What a great perceptional authority!
