Purnima is the full moon night. Night represents the spiritual ignorance, which means the ignorance about true and complete spiritual knowledge. Worldly ignorance means the lack of knowledge of worldly matters. The full moon means the Sadguru, who is the contemporary human incarnation of God coming down to earth to uplift all the human beings in spiritual line.
