Is salvation an individual affair?

[Shri Anil asked: Swami as per Your preaching, salvation is an individual affair. But in the following verse of the Bible, it is mentioned that the entire family of the believer in the Incarnation of God will get salvation. They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” [Acts 16:31]. Could You explain how these two aspects are correlated? At Your Divine Lotus Feet-Anil]

Swami replied:- Salvation for the entire family is Arthavaada (beneficial lie), which is used so that the family will encourage the spiritual effort of the devotee with selfishness. Salvation means liberation from the three strongest worldly bonds. It is the matter of an individual. Shankara got salvation from the fascination of His worldly bond with the mother. But, His mother was highly fascinated to her son and didn’t agree to leave her son for God’s work.
