[A poem by Smt. Chhandaa Chandra on Shri Datta Swami]
Swami name itself brings bliss infinite,
I don’t know, for this grace, how long I had to wait.
He has given to me a very special honor,
I fight with Him for no reason, may this give Him pleasure.
I am the ignorant one who takes Him for granted,
He tolerates me out of kindness, I am really delighted.
(delighted:- extremely pleased)
When He gives spiritual knowledge, I keep silent,
But when He makes me laugh, I don’t remain obedient.
Still He does not get angry, smiles always
I keep on laughing in all possible ways.
He says laughing is a divine quality,
I don’t understand anything, only believe my Almighty.
This one side of Swami is in little lighter tone,
Now comes the other side, where He fixes my tune.
When He scolds me, I feel “Yes, it is my day”,
For which I am ever thirsty, no end of my enjoyment, what to say?
His scolding gives me more satisfaction,
It shows His closeness, making clear the revelation.
To err is human, unpardonable is my error,
(err:- to make mistake)
Correction comes from Swami, not at all in the form of terror.
Rather it’s a good process of learning,
May this phase be forever continuing.
I get purer by this apparent difficulty,
I think it is necessary for this soul to bring maturity.
I truly love Swami’s timely intervention,
In this way, Swami cleanses all my incorrect imagination.
Whether it is Swami’s scolding on me or a smiley,
With His blessings, I feel fulfilled always in the journey.
Most important in all these is to give Him happiness,
If it does not solve this purpose, everything becomes meaningless.
I am the most fortunate one, to be in His close association,
Let my eyes see Him pleased being in His vision.
Thy will be done, is only my wish,
Whatever happens to me, I have no grief.
Sweet is worldly life, sweeter is worldly life with devotion
And sweetest is the spiritual life.
