[A poem by Smt. Chhandaa Chandra on Shri Datta Swami]
Swami, the direct incarnation of Lord Datta, You Yourself are the Parabrahman, the unimaginable God,
Descended down to this earth to uplift ignorant souls like us, mad about all worldly bonds.
We will remain ignorant forever even after getting Your knowledge,
Will never be deserving in the future, how much we acknowledge.
Still You, with Your own ocean of compassion,
Shower Your grace on all of us, we never have that realization.
By Your grace, I have realized that You are my destination,
You are always helping me to come out of this horrible condition.
Let all the experiences of this small human life,
Take me in the direction of You, never to this world drive.
If we don’t divert ourselves towards Your way,
All the worldly bonds will catch hold of us in a stronger way.
These bondings of the world are so highly strong,
That we don’t give any importance, even try to prove You wrong.
Thank You Swami, for saving me to get derailed from Your track,
(derail:- to cause a train to come off a railway track)
Your blissful company in my life is the most beautiful pack.
(pack:- package)
A thousands of questions were there in my mind
Whom to go, who will answer, all I had to find.
No idea about the waiting time to reach that auspicious moment,
(auspicious:- considered to be good)
When You will come to me to clear all my doubts with lot of patience.
Finally, You could not stay away from me and came to the front fore,
(front fore:- something that occupies a front position)
Took all the steps to reach and pacify my mind with answers crystal clear.
When I started to read all Your wonderful answers,
I tasted the divine nectar, nothing matches and all falter.
(falter:- to move waveringly)
Logic behind Your knowledge is so powerful and strong,
That it defeats everything, establishing the right from wrong.
Shruti, smriti, yukti and anubhavaa - are the four criteria,
(criteria:- standard used to make a decision)
Your knowledge match with all these, no need of any other area.
All the explanations of You are scientifically clarified,
And my mind has no other option but be completely satisfied.
From most ignorant like me to the highest scholar like Head of Shankarapeetham,
Your knowledge covers people of each and every spectrum.
(spectrum:- covering certain range of people)
Baroda Maharaj, Chandrashekharendra Saraswati to Shivananda Maharaj, just to name a few,
All are, satisfied, enriched and uplifted by special knowledge, preached by You.
(enrich:- to make something richer)
Your knowledge is like a train where everyone can board,
No matter what is our level, find it very comfort.
Once this journey starts, from whichever may be the station,
We will conclude this train as my Swami - the final destination.
If we can’t analyze the knowledge properly through logical ways,
No need to accept it, this is what Swami says.
Each and every sentence of You is supported by scriptures,
Studying scripture by self-effort will put us in a fixture.
(fixture:- something that is fixed)
Even if someone thinks, from the Vedas he will start reading,
No idea of how many births he will take to get even a proper meaning.
You brought the extract of all the spiritual knowledge at once,
(extract:- to take out something with difficulty)
If we accept, we will surely be in blissful state without any chance.
Overall, Your knowledge in my opinion is very revolutionary,
Everyone with logical and receiving mind, will find it exemplary.
(exemplary:- an example to other people)
This is the reason why You descended down to this earth to our level,
We again reject You due to ego and jealousy, stopping us from being spiritual.
If by proper analysis, we are able to come out of this pride and envy,
(envy:- enmity)
It is sure that in You, we will recognize the Almighty.
Let us try our level best to overcome these two vices,
(vice:- wrong activity)
Even then if we fail, gone all our thought precious.
If we can’t recognize You here on this earth,
It’s guaranteed that we will miss You also in upper world.
The loss that we face by not recognizing You here in this loka (earth),
Named as the “Greatest loss” as per You as told in Veda.
If we are really wise, will take this decision firmly,
Never will we lose You (God), bonding comes permanently.
Blessed become our births by this one achievement,
Everything around us will see its fulfillment.
All religions of this world are united in Your mission,
We all know that Universal Spirituality is Your vision.
O, the king of spiritual knowledge! I salute You,
Never let me allow to slip from Your feet, I pray Thou.

I want only You, the real God Datta, O my beloved Swami!
Only You, the contemporary human incarnation, nothing else matters to me.
