Is Balarama the incarnation of Adishesha?

[Shri Hrushikesh asked: Dear Swami. In reference to the answer given by You on Dashavaataaras, please refer the link below.

Link: https://www.universal-spirituality.org/discourses/who-is-the-9th-avatar-of-lord-vishnu--5447--5381--ENG Please answer the following questions.]

1. Is Balarama the incarnation of Adishesha?

Swami replied:- Yes, Balarama is the incarnation of Adishesha. Shesha means a part and Sheshi means the whole. Since Shesha is a part of God, Shesha is considered to be God. Hence, he can be included in the list of incarnations of God. Shesha-Sheshi relationship between part of God (devotee) and God (whole) is told by Shri Ramanuja.

2. When Balarama is Adishesha, does it mean that Lord Vishnu and Adishesha are the same?

[All the 10 avataaras are of Lord Vishnu? I am confused, How Adishesha's Avataar "Balarama" is considered the 8th Incarnation of Lord Vishnu? Does this mean Lord Vishnu and Adishesha are the same?]

Swami replied:- The answer for this is told above.

3. Can we consider Adishesha as God, who is acting in the role of a servant?

[Does Adishesha mean servant from the beginning of creation? How did Adishesha become a servant from the beginning? Can we consider Adishesha as an exceptional soul ? or Can we consider Adishesha as God who is acting in the role of a servant? At Your Lotus feet, Hrushikesh]

Swami replied:- Adishesha is a soul and God Vishnu is God. Shankara told the possibility of monism (Advaita) between devoted soul and God while God becomes incarnation. Ramanuja told whole-part relationship between God and devoted soul. The exceptionally devoted soul can be appreciated as God and this is told in the Brahma Sutras (Brahma dṛṣṭi rutkarṣāt ).
