When God Himself remains as a celibate, why shall souls follow the path of marriage?

[Ms. Bhanu Samykya asked:- Swami, when God Himself remains as a celibate, why does He advice in the Veda that all souls must follow the path of marriage?]

Swami replied:- God maintained celibacy and this is understood by deep intricate analysis only. When God Krishna married Rukmini, she is the personified power (Shri Mahaa Lakshmi) of God Vishnu, whose incarnation is God Krishna. Since there is no qualitative difference between possessor of power and power, there is no dualism in the real sense. In this way, God maintained celibacy even after marriage. You cannot say that God always remained as the celibate even externally like Hanuman, AdiShankara etc., because God also expressed Himself as Datta, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Rama, Krishna etc., who are externally married since God has to stand as an ideal appearing in married life so that the souls will take Him as an example, get married to produce children so that the generations are continued in the created worlds. The birth and death of gross bodies of souls are also essential to get the fruits in the upper worlds and to put spiritual efforts in Martya Loka or Earth. Regulation of lust of a living being by certain rules is also necessary to maintain the balance of society in a systematic way of justice.

Of course, very few souls only break this pattern of worldly life like Suvarcala, Radha, Miira, Buddha, Ramanuja etc., to show the path of Nivrutti or spiritual life, which is far far higher than Pravrutti or worldly life. The correlation of all the divine and worldly mechanisms is possible through such arrangement only. Souls having no birth and death also get bored due to their monotonous lives. So many background factors exist as the three-dimensional network in this creation. God is always a celibate as understood through some incarnations and even if God appears as a householder through some other incarnations for the sake of setting an example to many created souls, God maintains His celibacy even in such case since His power personified as wife is not separate from Himself due to which the internal dualism is absent. The omnipotent unmediated unimaginable God Himself is an infinite ocean of bliss and is not in requirement of the trace of illusory worldly happiness generated from the interaction of two gross bodies.
