Prayer to God Datta to Get Rid of Ego

O Learned and Devoted Servants of God,

(Recently, several devotees were asking Me how to get rid of the ego. I have composed the following verse to be read by you along with its translation before the photo of God Datta at least once every day. – Swami)

Verse (Shloka):-

समन्ता दसमर्थोऽहं,
समर्थस्त्वं समन्ततः ।
मदाब्धिं पाहि मां दत्त,
दुर्गुणं करुणार्णव ।।

Samantā dasamartho'ham,
Samarthastvaṃ samantataḥ |
Madābdhiṃ pāhi māṃ Datta!
Durguṇaṃ karuṇārṇava! ||

Meaning:-

O God Datta! You are completely capable to do anything and You are the ocean of kindness. I am totally incapable to do anything and I am the ocean of ego. Without looking at my bad qualities, please protect me.
