Unmatto bhāṣate caivaṃ, vinodaṃ necchati sma yat!॥

Shri Raajiva Gita: Chapter-2: The Association of Enquiry of the Difference Between God and Soul (Verses 1-9)

Posted on: 14/05/2026

(Brahma Jiiva bheda Vicāra Yogaḥ)

Shri Rajiiva Uvaaca:-
[Shri Rajiiv Spoke]:-

1) Nāśabda mīkṣates sūtrāt, Brahma cin niścitaṃ śrutam |
Hetunā kena nohyaṃ tat, jagadūhyaṃ samantataḥ॥

[God is decided to be the awareness based on the Vedic statement (Tadaikṣata…) as stated in the Brahmasūtram (Īkṣater nā'śabdam), which says that God thought to create this world. Thinking is the quality of awareness. Therefore, God must be awareness so that He thought like this. On the other hand, you are saying that awareness is not God. By what reason is God unimaginable while the world...

Shri Raajiiva Gita: Chapter-1: The Association of Enquiry of Correlation of Three Vedantic Philosophies (Verses 31-47)

Posted on: 13/05/2026

(Trimata Samanvaya Vicāra Yogaḥ)

31) Śaṅkarasya jaganmithyā, satyaṃ Lakṣmaṇa Madhvayoḥ।
Jagadasat svayaṃ Brahma — sattayā jagadasti sat॥

[Śrī Śaṅkara told that this creation is mithyā, which does not mean non-existing. The world is inherently non-existent, but becomes existent by the existence of its creator, God, since God Himself has gifted existence to the world. Śrī Rāmānuja and Śrī Madhva told that the world is existent. Śrī Śaṅkara told that the world is neither existent...

Swami answers questions of Prof. JSR. Prasad

[Prof. JSR Prasad asked:- Sāṣṭāṅga namaskārṃ Swami. Kindly enlighten me by clarifying the following doubts:]

1. What are meant by theoretical and practical devotions?

Swami replied:- Love to God expressed as excitation is theoretical devotion. Love to God expressed as service and sacrifice is practical devotion. Mere theoretical devotion without practical devotion is like a fake currency note...

How to overcome selfish love?

Posted on: 12/05/2026

[Shri Abhiram asked:- Swami, love has a defect, which is that it is always associated with the accomplishment of some selfish aspiration. How to solve this problem?]

Swami replied:- Love to God in the beginning stage may have the desire to fulfil some selfish worldly aspiration since God Krishna said that in the beginning stage, every system is surrounded by defects like the fire in the beginning stage of burning is surrounded by smoke (Sarvārambhā hi doṣeṇa dhūmenāgni rivāvṛtāḥ). The devotee shall not be discouraged by this starting trouble. As long...

Jīvo Brahma na tat prāha, Lakṣmaṇo dvaita magrataḥ॥

[If you think that Shri Shankara really believed that every soul is God, He should not have addressed a scholar (not an ignorant soul) as a fool because every soul is God. If every soul is God, Shri Shankara would...

[In the heart of Śrī Śaṅkara, Śrī Madhva (Dualism)exists. Only for the special project of conversion of atheists into theists, Śrī Śaṅkara had to use the technique of three statements (You are God, You exist and hence, God exists). Śrī Śaṅkara revealed His original idea...

Śrī Rājīva uvāca:-
[Śrī Rājīv spoke]:-

1) Oṃ Namo Guru Dattāya, Madhvācāryāya cottamam।
Trigurūṇāṃ matānyuktvā, brūhi Datta Guro! Hitam॥

[Aum. My best salutation goes to Shri Guru Datta and then to Śrī Madhvācārya. O Guru Datta! Please explain the three philosophies of the three divine preachers called Śrī Śaṅkara, Śrī Rāmānuja and Śrī Madhva. Finally, tell me which philosophy should be followed by human beings for their spiritual welfare.]...

Is God responsible for the success of deeds of the souls?

Posted on: 03/05/2026

[Prof. JSR Prasad asked:- Saashtaanga namaskaram Swami, kindly correlate the two statements: i) Abhadhnan purusham pashum – (souls are using God like an animal tied to the cart), ii) Adhishthanam tathaa kartaa… daivam caivaatra pancamam (God is only 20% responsible for the success of deeds of the souls).]

Swami replied:-

i) The first Vedic hymn is related to the context of free will granted by God since souls were very much bored by the discipline for a long time in Kruta Yuga. In that Yuga, people were not having any freedom and were doing justified deeds only as per the direction of God. After the Kruta Yuga, the bored souls got free will from God along with the divine preaching that gives instructions against...

When Nivrutti is said to be capable of giving the highest fruit, what is the need for Pravrutti?

Posted on: 03/05/2026

[Prof. JSR Prasad asked:- Sāṣṭāṅga namaskāraṃ Swami.  When Nivṛtti (spiritual life) is said to be capable of giving the highest fruit (Nivṛttistu mahāphalā), what is the need for Pravṛtti (worldly life)?]

Swami replied:- Pravṛtti is a part of the path to Nivṛtti and therefore, while explaining the path to Nivṛtti, Pravṛtti has to be explained. Like this, Pravṛtti is not the main topic, but it is a sub-topic of the path that leads to Nivṛtti. Nivṛtti gives the grace and closeness of God and this divine fruit is the highest. There is no doubt in this concept. But, Pravṛtti helps the attainment of Nivṛtti. Pravṛtti is concerned...

Swami replied:- When Duryodhana and Arjuna came to God Krishna asking for His help in the war, God Krishna said that He has taken an oath not to fight using any weapon. One cannot argue that the wheel...

33. The unimaginable God appears as a human incarnation or as an energetic incarnation. But can He appear as space?

[Devotee asked: There is a particular point I did not understand in a discourse You had given:

“The unimaginable God appears as space or subtle energy, which is an adhyasa or superimposition.”

In my understanding of the above point, the unimaginable God appears as a human incarnation or as an energetic incarnation. But can He appear as space?]

Swāmi replied: How has God created this universe? According to Shankara, it is a superimposition or adhyasa. God appears as energy because energy is relatively real while He is absolutely real. The example of the rope...

23. Swami, in order to exercise, we go to gyms, attend zumba dances, etc., where there are very big mirrors while worldly music is also played continuously. Should I avoid such locations so as to not become too body-conscious?

[A question asked by Kum. Thrylokya.]

Swāmi replied: It’s not necessary that everyone who goes to such places becomes body conscious. It depends on the individual. Some people may be capable enough of not getting distracted by such an atmosphere and they may go to such places simply to maintain their physical health. But if you feel that such an atmosphere will disturb your spiritual progress, you can decide to keep away from...

5. Swami, why don’t You make all the fake Babas experience Your state so that they understand the pain involved in it and stop cheating people?

[Smt. Sudha Rani asked: Just like how Sri Satya Sai Baba had given one of His devotees the experience of being in His state, why doesn’t Swami grant this experience to fake babas and dummies who act like incarnations of God to earn fame and money falsely. I think, in this way, You can completely get rid of those cheaters who are the reason behind the public’s bad perception of spirituality in the current time.]
