[The devotees in Kali Yuga must rectify two defects:- i) The devotee must replace statues and photos of God with the alive Contemporary Human Incarnation of God for worship. ii) The devotee must sacrifice physical energy to the human form of God by doing practical service that is needed (Karma Saṃnyāsa) and must sacrifice earned fruit of hard work (Karma Phala Tyāga). Both these together are called Karma Yoga.]
[Along with materials and actions, there must be words and mind also so that the Trikaraṇams (three instruments) are dedicated to God. When you call a priest to your house for doing a ritualistic function, he will perform the function using both recitation of the Vedic hymns and the actions and materials also. Theory and practical shall go together so that the worship of God becomes complete.]
[The tests by God Datta are always done in the sacrifice of practical materials and fruits only. He never tests a devotee in theoretical knowledge and devotional songs. The reason is that people are already the climax scholars with so many discovered tricks in theoretical knowledge and devotional songs.]
[God sang in the Gītā about His clear policy like this — “By whatever path you approach Me, I will revert back to you by the same path”.]
[The meaning of the above verse told by God is that if you worship God by knowledge and songs without any practical service and sacrifice (Karma Yoga), God also will grant you theoretical boons without any practical boons. If you are serving God by propagation of spiritual knowledge with the help of intelligence, God will grant you more intelligence for such service of yours. If you serve God by propagating God through devotional songs, God will grant you more talent in singing and more sweetness to your voice and no practical boon is given for theoretical devotion.]
[God’s policy is this – Theoretical boons for theoretical devotion and practical boons for practical devotion. In the policy of God, there is no injustice and there is no deceit. It is just like the reflection of the object when exposed to mirror.]
[In the Veda, it is told that sacrifice of money is the only way to reach God (Na karmaṇā na prajayā Dhanena tyāgena eke amṛtattva mānasuḥ). It is not clear that whether the money offered to God is self-earned or given by ancestors.]
[In the above-mentioned Vedic hymn, the meaning is that neither by rituals nor by getting children, one can get salvation because salvation is attained by the sacrifice of one’s wealth to God alone. The scholars have changed the original text of the Veda by adding ‘na’ (no) before the word ‘money’ or ‘wealth’ also so that the wrong meaning results, which is that neither by rituals, nor by children, nor by money, one can attain God and one can attain God by sacrifice only. How funny it is?! The word ‘sacrifice’ is mentioned, but sacrifice of what? — is not told in the wrong version. Simply, without context, the word ‘sacrifice’ has no meaning. You are unable to know this defect by your such change in the Vedic text!]
[If the money donated to God was not self-earned but was given by ancestors, the owner of such money doesn’t know the value of that money and easily donates it since the bond with that money is not so strong because the owner didn’t earn that money by doing any hard work.]
[Therefore, God Krishna sang in the Gītā bringing this Vedic concept to a proper stronger background of testing by telling that one should sacrifice his/her self-hard earned money or wealth and not the ancestral property. It is told as ‘Karma Phala Tyāga’ and not as ‘Pitṛ Datta Dhana Tyāga’.]
[If somebody has only ancestral property and no self-earned wealth or money, that person shall not show over-intelligence by saying that he/she can’t donate anything to God because self-earned money is absent. This is only an intellectual legal trick to escape from performing sacrifice to God. If ancestral property alone is present, that ancestral property itself is treated as self-earned property because the test is about your bond with money (Dhaneṣaṇā). The actual conclusion is that if one has both ancestral property and self-earned property, the owner shall donate from the self-earned property and not from ancestral property.]
[The concept here is that the love to God competes with your love to your wealth. If your love to wealth defeats your love to God, you will not sacrifice anything to God and if your love to God defeats your love to wealth, you will sacrifice to God.]
[In this test of your bond with wealth, the other two bonds (spouse and children) are also simultaneously tested whether you give money to your family of wife and children or to God. In this competition of God with your self-attachment to money, your attachment to your spouse and children is also tested simultaneously. It means that it is a test to see whether you give money to your family or to God. By this, all your three strongest worldly bonds or three Eṣaṇās (bond with money, bond with spouse and bond with child) are tested by a single test.]
[Actually, all your wealth was given by God only secretly without your knowledge. If you know that your wealth is actually given by God only and if God asks something from you, you will naturally sacrifice it to God due to gratefulness and not due to true love on God. That is why God has kept His giving wealth to you as a secret so that you always feel that your wealth is earned by you only. Then, the test becomes not the test of gratefulness, but the test of your real inherent love to God. A grandfather bought and brought some sweets and gave to his daughter-in-law secretly. The daughter-in-law gave a sweet to her son. The son thinks that the sweets were bought by his mother only and not by his grandfather. Now, the grandson need not show any gratefulness to his grandfather. Exactly in this situation, the grandfather begs the grandson to give a bit of the sweet in his hand, to test his natural love present on the grandfather. Just like this story, the sacrifice of fruit of work of the soul to God takes place naturally, which is the test of real love of the soul to God competing with the soul’s three strongest worldly bonds called ‘Eṣaṇā Trayam’.]
[In the test of God Datta, God Datta does not see the magnitude of your sacrificed amount to Him. He sees how much fraction of your possessed wealth is sacrificed by you to Him. If a poor fellow gives Rs.10/- only and doesn’t have any balance, God gives a ticket up to Brahma Loka and Goloka, the seventh and eighth topmost abodes of God, counting from this first world called ‘Bhūloka.’ If a rich fellow gives Rs.100/- and has the balance of Rs.900/- with him, the ticket is given by God up to the next higher 2nd world called ‘Bhuvar Loka.’ Therefore, God sees the fraction of your sacrifice compared to your total possessed wealth and not the magnitude of your already sacrificed amount. Hence, in this test of ‘Guru Dakṣiṇā’, only poor people (Saktuprastha, Sudāmā, Śabarī etc.,) passed and not the rich people. Therefore, you shall not mistake that God is fond of money like a businessman, who gives a precious item for more money and gives a cheap item for lower amount of money.]
[O Soul! Rājīva! You live hundred years life on this earth. You are like Śrī Kūrma Incarnation supporting the Mandara mountain as support for this propagation of the spiritual knowledge of God Datta, which is like the churning of milk sea to get the salvation—divine nectar.]
[You are a householder with wife and children. You are also not a rich person. In this state, nobody can give practical sacrifice to God. But, you have offered Guru Dakṣiṇā to God Datta from your hard-earned money. You are truly a special case.]
[This is possible because the speciality of your case is that you were directly Shri Madhva Ācārya, the Divine Preacher, who was the incarnation of God Brahmā. This is the reason for you to sacrifice to God Datta. This is the reason why you sacrificed to God Datta by raising above all the powerful hindering worldly bonds. Otherwise, a normal human being can’t be so firm about the spiritual knowledge.]
[O God Brahma! Yourself and Myself, we both are one and the same. You are the most beloved younger brother of God Hanuman. The aim of this book is to make all this world as one family with one religion and with one God.]
Śrī Rājīva Uvāca:-
[Śrī Rajiiv Spoke]:-
[Let the entire auspiciousness embrace God Dattātreya, who is the united single form of the three Divine Preachers i.e., Śrī Śaṅkara, Śrī Rāmānuja and Śrī Madhva and who is desiring to establish brotherhood among all the human beings in this world for world peace.]
[Let entire auspiciousness embrace God Dattātreya, who is having three faces representing the three qualities (Sattva, Rajas and Tamas), whose six hands bless all devotees with immense wealth of devotion and who is the Lord of the life of three worlds.]
Iti Śrī Datta Svāmi viracita Śrī Rājīva Gītāyāṃ Bhakti tattva Vicāra Yogo Nāma Carama-Aṣṭādaśādhyāyaḥ |
